Recovery and rehabilitation of damaged fragile ecologic system, plant physiology and ecology in extremely harsh environments, oasis agriculture, eco-economy and sustainable development are major research directions in the Division of the Ecology and Agriculture. It aims at solving ecologic problems for key national programs and projects in socio-economic development and its associated eco-environmental problems in the middle and western China, so as to provide theoretical bases and technical supports for ensuring sustainable eco-environments and ecological stability in oases and agricultural-pastoral interwoven (mosaic) areas in western and northern China.
