Experts from the United States Department of Agriculture visited Shapotou Station

A 4-expert delegation led by Kevin Jenson from the laboratory of Grass and Rangeland Research under US Department of Agriculture visited the Shapotou Desert and Experiment Station on June 3,2010.

At the invitation of the scientific and Technological Department and the Academy of Agriculture and Forest Sciences of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region,American experts paid a cooperation visit to Ningxia.During their tour to Ningxia they visit the Shapotou Station.Kevin and his colleagues are experts engaged in the researches of grass cultivation and rangeland management,their research scope include desert.Therefore,they are very interested in the construction techniques of vegatal sand-binding protective system and the exploitation of sand binding plants.After the on-the-spot observations and detailed understanding of the station’s research works,they evaluated the station’s achievements.They hope to strengthen the academic exchange and cooperation with the station in the coming years so as to make contributions to the global desert control and the exploitation of desert vegetation.
