Changyi Offshore Ecosystem and Engineering Research Center, which is built by the CAREERI (Cold and Arid Environmental and Engineering Research Institute) and the People’s Government of Changyi city, have established in Changyi, Shandong province. 

Based on the advantages of scientific research and talents of CAREERI, the center focus on the ecological environmental problems and geotechnical engineering problems during the development processes of Changyi, and provide scientific and technical supports for the sustainable development and economic construction of Changyi city. 

CAREERI will strengthen the cooperation with the people’s government of Changyi in the field of observation and research on the vegetation and environment in the ocean ecological special reserve and its surrounding areas, the research on the formative mechanism of tamarix chinensis in the ocean ecological special reserve, the ecological functions and resources potential of tamarix chinensis, the research on the geotechnical engineering in the seasonal freezing region of the Bohai Sea economic zone and the cultivation of talents.
