The Deputy Secretary General of the CAS Wu Jianguo visited the CAREERI on April 25, 2014. 

Wu surveyed the infrastructure construction of the CAREERI, visited the State Key Laboratory of Frozen Soil Engineering, the State Key Laboratory of Cryospheric Sciences and the Public Technology Service Center of the CAREERI. 

Wu listened closely to the condition of the laboratories, the science research progress, the talent cultivation and the using situations of the scientific instruments and equipment. 

Wu indicated that the next step of CAS will focus on the western science and research institution in the next resource assignment project of CAS. Meanwhile, Wu hoped that the CAREERI would use the western region advantages to make contributions to the national western development. 

Wu visited the CAREERI with the vice-president of Lanzhou Branch Chinese Academy of Sciences Yang Qingchun and the deputy director of the CAREERI Zhang Xiaojun.
