The project of “Water regulation mechanism of ecological restoration and key technology and application in arid inland river basin”, which is hosted by CAREERI’s scientist Feng Qi, won the second Prize of 2014 National Progress Award in S&T on Jan. 9, 2015. 

This project involves the theory basis and application technology in the field of water control of ecological restoration in inland river basin, Prof. Feng introduced.  

This project studied the ecological hydrology of mountain areas, oases and desert in inland river basin, which establishes three basic theories related to the water cycle in inland river basin, ecological hydrology and hydro-thermal coupling. 

The oasis protection system, water management pattern and ecological restoration, which is researched by this project, has been judged as a latest research development and a successful pattern in the field of ecological construction in inland river basin. This achievement has been produced 3.42 billion economic benefits and spread in Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Ningxia and Shanxi.
