NIEER Scientist gives a report on Antarctic Expedition

Recently, China’s 33rd Antarctic expedition has come to a successful end. NIEER scientist DU Zhiheng gave a wonderful report on Antarctic Science Investigation on Apr. 13. 

Dr. DU introduced the deep ice core drilling on Dome A, the snow and ice sampling and material balance monitoring in Zhongshan Station and Dome A, three meteorological stations installation and data updating and collecting on Antarctic ozone. 

Besides, DU said the construction of the planned airfield will be carried out by the 34th Antarctic expedition, and he also mentioned China’s environment protection achievements in Antarctic, including using the homemade sanitary modules, carrying out garbage classification and so on.
