NIEER hosts three major academic periodical i.e. Journal of Glaciology and Geocryology, Journal of Desert Research and Plateau Meteorology in Chinese, and Sciences of Cold and Arid Regions (SCAR) in English. During the past few years, the quality of these journals have been upgrading continuously, with their impacting factors rising year by year. They have become the domestic journals with important impacts. The new journal (SCAR) has been started at very high level, aiming at becoming internationally important academic periodical in cold and arid regions sciences within 3 to 5 years. Journal of Ecological Economy is a new academic periodical edited by the NIEER. It is anticipated to become one of the key journals on ecology in China.
